WHAT ARE WORDS WORTH?

Old folk get confused
when words are now used
in ways that must be translated.

Back in the day
what it meant to be gay
was to be highly elated.

In the past being straight
showed a strong truthful trait,
not the gender you dated.

Now being cool
means you're nobody's fool,
not that the heat has abated.

To engage in a trip
was by car, train or ship,
not hallucinogen-related.

But don't scratch your head
over words that are said,
just accept the concept created.
