Light, Captured

Still an abundance
of daylight,
enough to squander.
But the sunlight
shrinks by
four minutes twenty-five seconds
today.
Need to cache
pieces of bright
around the house,
to be startled this winter
when I stumble
on them,
fireworks
against the dark.
